Win a trip to the 2011 US Open

CHICAGO — Wilson is excited to announce their US Open Tennis Ball promotion for the 2011 tournament. The annual US Open promotion starts June 1st and runs through July 31st. The Grand Prize is a complete trip for two people to experience New York City and the 2011 US Open in a memorable fashion. The prize includes airfare, hotel, a VIP behind the scenes tour and box seats for a day and a night session of the tournament.

In addition to the Grand Prize, there are six (6) 2nd place prize packs that include a case of US Open tennis balls, a Wilson BLX tennis racquet, a set of Wilson string and a BLX tennis racquet bag. Starting Wednesday, June 1st online registration begins at: www.wilson.com/usopentrip

In 2010, over 25,000 registrants entered online or by mail from all over the United States and the Grand Prize winner was Carol Thies from Minnesota. Carol won 2 roundtrip tickets to New York, courtside box seats, a VIP backstage tour of the US Open stadium and grounds and hotel accommodation for three nights in New York. Carol and her friend were able to catch the action at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Center during the first week of the event. “I am a huge tennis fan and my favorite event to follow is the US Open. It does not get any better than this,” Carol said while experiencing the Open last summer.

Last year, in addition to the Grand Prize, there were also six (6) 2nd place prize pack winners. Winners included Kathy Brewer of Indianapolis, IN, Deborah Baer of Reno, NV, Bert Hatch of Edisto Island, SC, Nancy Wells from Valparaiso, IN, Jennifer Coleman of McKinney, TX, and Clara Mathewson of Stratham, NH.

In 2011, Wilson enters its 33rd year as the Official Ball of the US Open, the most highly attended annual sporting event in the world. During the event there are more than 90,000 balls used which require over 3900 pounds of rubber and 700 square yards of felt to produce.
