The Ultimate Return

January 4, 2010

[CHICAGO] – Just recently announcing her comeback, Justine Henin is back on the courts with a new Wilson racket in her hand. She is already off to a very good start with a win in straight sets over Nadia Petrova in the Brisbane International, two weeks ahead of her comeback to Grand Slam tennis at the Australian Open.

Seven-time Grand Slam winner, Justine says that she wants to come back because she has unfinished business in tennis: she wants to win a Wimbledon title, the only major she hasn’t won, and to continue playing at least until the London 2012 Olympics.

When Justine announced her comeback, she knew only one brand could help to achieve her goal: Wilson. Justine has tremendous history with Wilson. In May 2008, Justine left the game as the reigning #1 in the world, spending 117 weeks at the top spot. In 2007, she won 10 out of 14 events and was the 1st woman in Tour history to earn over $5 million in prize money in one year.

This reunion coincides with the launch of BLX, the next great generation of Wilson rackets. As she restarts her career, Justine will be equipped with an upgrade of her old frame, the new Tour BLX. The racket, which has been created in collaboration with Justine, is one of the most versatile rackets in the Wilson line. The Tour BLX has been redefined with an improved level of feel thanks to the BLX technology.

“I am eager to get back on the court and I can’t imagine playing with anything else than a Wilson racket,” Justine said after announcing her comeback. “When I decided to return, Wilson worked with me to find the racket that would give me the best feel.”

Justine is involved with BLX marketing campaign and looks forward to picking up where she left off. Winning at the Wimbledon title is the ultimate goal that she truly believes is possible. Wilson looks forward to kick-starting her tremendous career with all the support and the latest technology.
