IMG Signs Vera Zvonareva

BRADENTON, FL, April 22, 2009— Global sports and entertainment company IMG, today announced that Russian tennis star Vera Zvonareva has signed with the company for exclusive worldwide marketing and management representation.

Zvonareva, 24, who is currently ranked No. 6 on the Sony Ericsson WTA Tour, recently became only the second player in history (Lindsay Davenport 1997, 2000) to win both the singles and doubles titles at the 2009 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California. Earlier this year she reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open.

Zvonareva, who recently reached a career high world ranking No. 5, has won nine WTA Tour singles titles, five WTA Tour doubles titles and two ITF Women’s Circuit singles titles. Her first Grand Slam doubles championship came at the U.S. Open in 2006 with Nathalie Dechy. In 2008, she won a bronze medal in women’s singles for Russia at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Zvonareva was also a member of the Russian Fed-Cup team that won titles in 2004 and 2008.

“I feel like I have worked really hard and accomplished quite a lot on court the last six months and working with a company like IMG, that has such a worldwide presence will help me capitalize on these results. It will be great to have a global team guiding and helping me to take care of my business career so I can focus on my tennis,” said Zvonareva.
