Dellis Cay Hosts VIP Suite During the 2009 Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayne

MIAMI—(BUSINESS WIRE)—Over the past twelve days, from March 25-April 5, 2009, private island Dellis Cay hosted a VIP Suite for the second straight year at the 2009 Sony Ericsson Open in Key Biscayne, courtesy of Dr. Cem Kinay, CEO & Chairman of The O Property Collection (OPC), the developer behind the luxury Caribbean property.

The VIP Suite boasted spectacular views of the center court where guests could view all rounds of the tournament in an atmosphere that mimicked the décor and design aesthetics that will be available at Mandarin Oriental Dellis Cay, which will open in mid-2010. Guests of the Dellis Cay sponsored suite included NBC news reporter Jeff Burnside, President and CEO of Ferrari North America, Inc. Maurizio Parlati, Ferrari Racing Team owner Giuseppe Risi, Luminaire founders Nasir & Nargis Kassamali, culinary personality Ingrid Hoffman, and many others. The newly appointed Turks and Caicos Minister of Education, Youth and Sports Honorable Amanda Missick, her predecessor Dr. Carlton Mills, as well as a delegation of Turks and Caicos media officials attended the glamorous tournament.

The Sony Ericsson Open, which is considered to be one of the most prestigious titles in professional tennis and has been awarded the coveted “Tournament of the Year” by the ATP in eight of the past ten years. This year’s champions includes Andy Murray, who defeated Novak Djokovic for the Men’s Singles title on Sunday, April 5th, and Victoria Azarenka, who defeated Serena Williams for the Women’s Singles title on Saturday, April 4th. Victoria Azarenka visited the Dellis Cay VIP suite showing her interest in the unique private island development.

This year’s Sony Ericsson Open entrants included top world ranking players Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, Andy Roddick, Dinara Safina and Nadia Petrova, amongst many others. With $9mm in prize money this is one of the largest tournaments in the world. The tournament is currently one of nine ATP Masters Series events on the ATP calendar and a top tier event on the Sony Ericsson WTA TOUR calendar.
