Wilson Launches the Revolutionary Baiardo Stringing Machine
Chicago — Wilson Racquet Sports has created a revolutionary new stringing machine taking the process of stringing rackets to the next level.
Wilson’s new machine, “Baiardo”, is the first stringing machine designed using Wilson’s exclusive B.E.S.T. system (Biomechanically Efficient Stringing Technology).
The ergonomic features keep the stringer in mind throughout the entire process. Baiardo automatically adjusts height and tilt 3 times during the stringing process (mounting, mains, crosses) putting the string bed in a biomechanically perfect position for each individual user based on their height. Stringers experience less stress on to lower back, shoulders, neck and arms.
The machine is named Baiardo after the European mythical horse that had the ability to adjust its size to its riders. Appropriately, Wilson’s Baiardo remembers 13 personal settings for up to 6 different stringers for a truly customized stringing experience. Baiardo functions with a unique touch screen interface that is intuitive, fast and first of its kind. With the B.E.S.T system, stringers are faster and more efficient during a long day of stringing. Stringers feel better at the end of the day due to superior ergonomic design not found on any other machine on the market today.
“We researched how stringers work—how they bent forward and twisted throughout the process -which leads to fatigue and discomfort at the end of the day”, said John Lyons, Global Business Director of Accessories. “We implemented a total ergonomic design unlike any other machine on the market. Baiardo is the first stringing machine designed completely around the stringer”.
After many years of research and development, Baiardo was tested at the 2008 US Open. The feedback from customers and some of the best stringers around the world was fantastic. The stringers were less fatigued at the end of the day and thus produced extremely consistent stringing that had many players noticing the new machine. Wilson continues Baiardo’s success as the Official Stringers for the 2009 Australian Open.
Baiardo machines will be available for dealers in limited supply beginning April 2009. The waiting list grows for the first production from stringers who have experienced the difference Baiardo can make. Learn more at wilson.com/baiardo.
