USTA Florida Announces New Partnership

February 18, 2009

*DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — * USTA Florida today announced that Tennis Life Magazine will become the new official section publication as of May 2009. The association’s current official section publication, Play Tennis Florida, will distribute its final edition to members via an all-digital interactive tennis magazine this month. USTA Florida members will receive six regionally customized hard copy editions of Tennis Life Magazine in 2009 and nine editions in 2010, along with an additional online version at no extra cost. The section joins USTA Texas, USTA Southwest and USTA Northern in partnering with Tennis Life Magazine to distribute its section publication to USTA members.

“We’re excited about our new partnership with Tennis Life Magazine,” said Donn Davis, USTA Florida president. “In these difficult economic times, we’ve been able to structure a partnership that will allow us to continue to provide a key benefit to USTA members in Florida.”

Play Tennis Florida began in January 2008 as the official USTA Florida magazine under publisher Richard Vach.

“It is with great regret that we end our run as the official USTA Florida magazine due to current economic conditions,” Vach said. “USTA Florida and its staff have been wonderful partners throughout, and we have enjoyed working together to provide a deeper level of Florida tennis news and reporting.”

The Feb./March digital edition of Play Tennis Florida will be available at www.PlayTennisFlorida.com beginning Feb. 16.

Through this new venture with USTA Florida, Tennis Life Magazine can now bring news to the most important market in tennis – the Sunbelt. Nearly 50,000 members in Florida will receive a sought after quality tennis magazine that continues to grow amidst challenging times.

“Tennis Life continues to grow in the fastest growing sport in America,” said Todd Goldmann, publisher, Tennis Life Magazine. “Our staff is excited to work with the Florida Section (2005 and 2007 USTA Section of the Year) and bring their members the news and information they are looking for.”
