Wilson’s Peter Barker Dominates the Merritt Properties Open

September 29, 2008

Chicago – Peter Barker won his second tournament in a row at the Merritt Properties Open 2008 in Baltimore, MD. The final was a rematch of the Sweet Home Chicago Open earlier this month. Once again, with his [K] Tour squash racket, Barker defeated David Palmer, 7-11, 11-7, 11-4, 2-11, 11-8 in 89 minutes.

After winning the $30,000 3-star Sweet Home Chicago Open, Peter continued on a personal best of 2 consecutive titles in a row and captured the $40,000 4-star tournament and his 12th of his career. “I beat David two times in a row now after losing our first meeting last year at the World Open. I feel quite honored having achieved that against the reigning British Open champion.” Peter Barker said after his victory. Barker won using his [K] Tour squash racket featuring Wilson’s exclusive [K] Factor technology. His results emphasize his confidence in the performance of his [K] Factor racket and competitive advantage it provides.

Barker’s success will help prepare him for the World Championships to be played next month in Manchester, England. Barker is seeking to regain his highest career ranking (No 10) which he held earlier this year. “Peter’s performance in Chicago two weeks ago was already amazing, but winning two tournaments in a row is simply phenomenal.” Alexander Selch, Global Business Director of Indoor Racquet Sports for Wilson said. “We are really looking forward to Peter’s next tournaments and especially the World Championships next month”.
