HEAD Brand Shows Continued Success in 2008
Phoenix, Arizona — Throughout 2008, the HEAD brand continues to show its success and proves to have some of the most dominant racquets on tour. The 2008 Wimbledon Championships showed that HEAD continues to be dominant on tour.
HEAD was the leading racquet supplier in Men’s Singles, with 36 HEAD pros using various HEAD racquets. Eight out of 16 HEAD pros reached the fourth round of Wimbledon, four out of eight HEAD pros reached the quarterfinals and two out of four reached the semifinals.
HEAD has also proved to be a dominant brand with the Juniors. In the Boy’s Singles Competition, a HEAD player has won the Junior title for 5 straight years. This year, HEAD was the second most utilized racquet in the Juniors Competition with 18 percent of Junior players using a HEAD racquet.
HEAD also earned the most time on the court in the singles competitions, with 4,563 minutes of game time. In the Men’s and Women’s last 16 singles, HEAD racquets were played on Centre Court and Court One for 52 hours and 50 minutes.
The HEAD brand proved its continued success by earning great exposure at the Wimbledon Championships this year. Rounding out a great season, HEAD looks forward to continued success at the US Open Series tournaments and US Open Championship this year.
