Thanks to the Supporters of the 2007 FRIENDS Tournament!

More Players, More Money!!!
A record 330 players joined forces to raise $46,000+ for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

The 18th Annual FRIENDS Charity Tennis Tournament, presented by Discovery Point Child Development Centers, was another record-shattering success! Thanks to our generous sponsors, individual donors, and tireless volunteers, we raised the bar to new heights this year and toppled our record-breaking fundraising effort from last year’s Tournament, raising over $46,000 this year for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta!

This year’s Tournament also saw the largest participant turnout in event history, attracting a record 330 players, with a waiting list for both the men’s and women’s divisions. The immense popularity of this event is evident as players traveled over 3,000 collective miles to the Lawrenceville, Georgia based Tournament from as far as Rome, Douglasville, Acworth, Conyers, Marietta, and even one player from Ohio.

The trip was well worth it as participants were treated to 4 Days of Fun and Competitive Tennis, Loaded Goody Bags, an Amazing Party featuring Delicious Food and Beverages, a Huge Silent Auction, and Great Prizes for the victors! The names and photos of this year’s champions have been posted on the Tournament Web Site at www.friendstournament.org. Be sure to also check out all the great pictures from this year’s event in the 2007 Tournament Photo Gallery, courtesy of Kevin Russell Photography.

The Tournament is held in memory of 2-year-old Caroline Brown, daughter of Beth and Jeff Brown of the Steeplechase community in Lawrenceville, and a former patient of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. 100% of the proceeds of this Tournament will be presented to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta in memory of Caroline Brown. This year’s donation will help fund several critical pediatric programs including The Children’s Response Team, The FRIENDS Research Fund, The Family Support Team, and The Big Apple Circus Clown Care Unit.

If you were not able to participate in this year’s Tournament or if you would like to help us reach our $50,000 goal, it’s not too late to show your support! You can still partner with us in supporting Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta by making a 100% tax-deductible donation in one of the following ways:

One other unique way of showing your support is by bidding on our eBay Auction Item! The Packer Group has generously donated a certificate for a One-Day Offsite Team-Building Workshop, valued at over $12,000! Endorsed by best-selling author and speaker, Patrick Lencioni, this offsite will use the principles outlined in his ground-breaking book “The Five Dysfunctions of a Team” to help your work team become more cohesive. So, be sure to check out this Auction Item and take advantage of this incredible training opportunity that will benefit both your work team and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta! But don’t delay, the Auction ends in 10 days…

It’s our hope that you had as much fun during the Tournament as we did! Please let us know what you thought about the event. Kindly reply to this e-mail or send a note to info@friendstournament.org and tell us what you liked about the Tournament or let us know any suggestions you may have.

We hope we can count on your support again (or for the first time!) next year for the 19th Annual FRIENDS Charity Tennis Tournament! Drop us a note to let us know if you’d like to partner with us as a Sponsor or Volunteer next year and we’ll be sure to contact you prior to the 2008 event. And if you plan to play, don’t get stuck on the waiting list… make sure you sign up early!

Many thanks,
